Summary

Blind dating for the digital age。 What could go wrong?

When my best friend asks me to test his new dating app, I'm not sure it's a good idea。 After all, I'm moving out of the country in six months。 What's the point?

But he insists it's just to help him out, so I give it a shot。 Plus, the mystery of it is kind of fun。 There are no photos until you've been talking for thirty days, so it's all about the connection。

What I didn't expect was to immediately hit it off with a bookish charmer on the app at the same time as someone pretty similar in real life。 Two women? Why couldn't this happen when I wasn't about to leave?

Now that I thought about it, BookishDreamer from the app reminds me a lot of Claire from the real world。。。 wouldn't it be crazy if they were the same person?

Nah。 What are the odds of that?

Fans of You've Got Mail will love this mistaken identity rom-com! Get ready for loyalty, laughter, and happily ever after in the second standalone book of the First Comes Love trilogy!

Great read! The main character is the girl we all feel like we are。 Awkward but sweet and loves love! I wanted to be her friend so we could talk about books together。 There were some hilarious parts that didn’t follow your usual rom com stereotype。

I read this book in one day。 No bookmark needed!Mateo and Claire's story is a cute romcom in the world where smart/dreamy Marines rub elbows with matchmakers。 This time with a dating app ♡。 I can't wait to read the next one in the series。 I received an advance copy of this story and this is my honest-to-goodness review。 I read this book in one day。 No bookmark needed!Mateo and Claire's story is a cute romcom in the world where smart/dreamy Marines rub elbows with matchmakers。 This time with a dating app ♡。 I can't wait to read the next one in the series。 I received an advance copy of this story and this is my honest-to-goodness review。 。。。more

This story is about two people testing a new dating app where participants get to know each other for 30 days before they can see what the other person looks like。Mateo and Claire establish a good relationship in the first 30 days using the app - but Mateo withheld an important piece of information from Claire that might end the relationship。 Any ideas what that might be? I highly recommend you read this fun story to find out Mateo's secret and Claire's surprising action/reaction。The author gave This story is about two people testing a new dating app where participants get to know each other for 30 days before they can see what the other person looks like。Mateo and Claire establish a good relationship in the first 30 days using the app - but Mateo withheld an important piece of information from Claire that might end the relationship。 Any ideas what that might be? Jess has done it again with her "First Comes Love" series。 "A Blind Date for the Marine" was quite entertaining。 I loved how dramatic irony was used throughout。 Hence, I kept wanting to read to see when Claire and Mateo would be let in on what the reader knew about their situation。 The easy-to-read page-turning plot was hilarious and was perfectly executed by a talented writer。 I loved it, especially the ending。I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review。 Jess has done it again with her "First Comes Love" series。 "A Blind Date for the Marine" was quite entertaining。 I loved how dramatic irony was used throughout。 Hence, I kept wanting to read to see when Claire and Mateo would be let in on what the reader knew about their situation。 The easy-to-read page-turning plot was hilarious and was perfectly executed by a talented writer。 I loved it, especially the ending。I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review。 。。。more

It was heart warming and funny in places。 It shows that you don't have to know what someone looks like to become close。 I enjoyed the banter between Claire and Mateo。 They compliment each other very well。 It would be a great read for anyone looking for a sweet, romantic read。 It was heart warming and funny in places。 It shows that you don't have to know what someone looks like to become close。 I enjoyed the banter between Claire and Mateo。 They compliment each other very well。 It would be a great read for anyone looking for a sweet, romantic read。 。。。more

What an excellent story! This is my first read by this author, and I’m excited to read more of her books。 Claire is a fantastic heroine, as a writer and reader myself I loved and could totally relate to her bookishness, and I could also relate to her fear of stepping outside her comfort zone。 And Mateo is such an amazing hero。 I totally fell head over heels in love with him, and he had me swooning more times than I can count! I love this book。 It gave me all the same feels I get when I watch Hallmark movies, while still being distinctly different from one。 It was great。 I was probably grinning like an idiot the whole time I was reading。 My family probably thought I was crazy。I liked the characters and found them to be really relatable。 The main protagonists are a marine and a romance author。 There were a lot of references to books and talking about books, which I loved。Was the plot predictable? Honestly, yes, it was, I love this book。 It gave me all the same feels I get when I watch Hallmark movies, while still being distinctly different from one。 It was great。 I was probably grinning like an idiot the whole time I was reading。 My family probably thought I was crazy。I liked the characters and found them to be really relatable。 The main protagonists are a marine and a romance author。 There were a lot of references to books and talking about books, which I loved。Was the plot predictable? Honestly, yes, it was, but I didn't care because I was so enchanted by the story。 I read it quickly, it was able to keep my attention for long periods of time。If I had to find a complaint about the book, it would be that a few times there were moments where the characters' voices sounded the same。 If I missed at the beginning of the chapter who was narrating, there were one or two times I had to go back to see。 Usually, and for most of this book there was, there is a clear distinction between how they think and narrate their part of the story。 This just got a little mixed up once or twice and lost its clarity。 It's such a minor thing, most people probably wouldn't even notice it。I loved the book so much that now I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out, plus I need to go back and read the first one。 They are all stand-alone's, but the characters overlap, so now I have to read them all。 I'm definitely a fan of this writer。I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily left this review。 。。。more

Short and sweet! I loved Claire and Mateo in this book。 Both were great characters that I instantly liked。 They had good chemistry, their banter was cute and funny, and thankfully there was no extreme drama。 This book gave me all of the feel-good vibes。 I love “You’ve Got Mail” and I loved this story just as much!

I loved this one! I loved that it was not predictable。 A couple of things I thought I saw coming a mile away did not happen, which was great。 I love the concept of the app, even though I'm not dating, I would use it if I was。 I liked that dex and Amy from the last book were still very involved in this story。 The epilogue was just too sweet, it was a perfect wrap up to the book。 I loved this one! I don’t know how Jess Mastorakos does it, but her books just keep getting better。 I’ve read her other two military romance series, and this one is my favorite of the three。 I loved the secret identity in this one。 I liked that Claire and Mateo are able to balance each other out。 Mateo helped Claire realize that sometimes in order to be happy, you have to leave your comfort zone。 Mateo was willing to be patient to win over Claire。 Favorite part was definitely Mateo showing up at the book store ho I don’t know how Jess Mastorakos does it, but her books just keep getting better。 I’ve read her other two military romance series, and this one is my favorite of the three。 I loved the secret identity in this one。 I liked that Claire and Mateo are able to balance each other out。 Mateo helped Claire realize that sometimes in order to be happy, you have to leave your comfort zone。 Mateo was willing to be patient to win over Claire。 Favorite part was definitely Mateo showing up at the book store hoping to find his girl。 Definitely not what he expected! A blind date for the MarineA fun and adorable book about Mateo and Claire。 This was a different twist to an online dating app。 You don’t get to see the person for 30 days。 Just “talk” on line。This book was really sweet and I think this app is a good idea, if it doesn’t exist。😏

A Blind Date for the Marine was such a fun book to read! I honestly binged it and read most of it within a day because I was so drawn in and needed to see how the reveal ended up happening。 There was so much fun humor back and forth between Mateo and Claire and they were completely real while communicating via the app their friends created but a little more shy and reserved in real life。 Their great friends Dex and Amy knocked it out of the park with their dating app, and it drew them together! I really enjoyed this book! I couldn't put it down and flew through it in a day。 I just wanted to keep reading because we knew who they were but they didn't know who each other were。 I had to know how their love unfolded and how they revealed themselves to each other。 I love that the story line from the previous book gets carried over, it's a nice view into the happily ever after ending。 I really enjoyed this book! Freak!! I have no idea why it’s taken me so long to read one of Jess Mastorakos’s books! This one was amazing and I have a feeling they are all going to be just as good。 Seriously! I was amazed at how good it was and surprised by how much I liked it! One, it was light and fluffy, just what I needed after my heavy read of Kiss of Deception。 😂 Two, Claire and Mateo are absolutely adorable and their chemistry was definitely there! And three, this was just so fun that I think everyone should read this。 I love that Claire is an aspiring author and the fact that Jess added some tidbits to the behind the scenes strategies for being a writer。 It even made me consider whether I had it in me to write a novel。 😅 Who knows? Maybe I’m the next Claire waiting to happen。 In a perfect world, yes。 Reading this has given me a greater appreciation for men in the marines and the military in general。 I appreciated Jess’s input of why men and women join the military and what kind of sacrifice that means for them。 Five stars for this one! It’s a really fun book!! 。。。more

This book made me laugh and cry。 I did seem a bit upset with Claire for not wanting to date a military man look where she lives。 Mateo won my heart from the start。 Both Mateo and Claire were asked to join the FCL app by their best friend with out anyone else knowing they were there and snooping around for bugs。 I think the app is a great idea no pics for 30 days so you can really get to know the person better without seeing them。 It was good to watch their friendship grow in the app into love。 S This book made me laugh and cry。 I did seem a bit upset with Claire for not wanting to date a military man look where she lives。 Mateo won my heart from the start。 Both Mateo and Claire were asked to join the FCL app by their best friend with out anyone else knowing they were there and snooping around for bugs。 I think the app is a great idea no pics for 30 days so you can really get to know the person better without seeing them。 It was good to watch their friendship grow in the app into love。 Sure did make it interesting when they were in the same room with each other with how Claire felt。Can't wait for book 3 in the series。I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors。 I am not required to write positive reviews。 The opinions I have expressed are my own。 I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255 。。。more

A Blind Date for the Marine was a sweet and endearing novel following the main characters as they test a new dating app for their friends。 Claire and Mateo go onto the app looking for glitches but what they didn’t expect was to find love。 I especially love how Claire slowly breaks out of her shell, finds her confidence, and pursues her dream career。 She steps out of her comfort zone thanks to Stark。 Mateo seems like a swoon worthy, loyal, marine who is leaving to Germany on orders in 6 months。 H A Blind Date for the Marine was a sweet and endearing novel following the main characters as they test a new dating app for their friends。 Claire and Mateo go onto the app looking for glitches but what they didn’t expect was to find love。 I especially love how Claire slowly breaks out of her shell, finds her confidence, and pursues her dream career。 She steps out of her comfort zone thanks to Stark。 Mateo seems like a swoon worthy, loyal, marine who is leaving to Germany on orders in 6 months。 He wasn’t looking to find the perfect book loving woman。 The way the story comes together of them finding out who each other is is brilliantly out together。 I thought I knew how it was going to happen but there were definitely some twists I didn’t expect。 This is a must read and amazing 2nd installment to the First Comes Love series!
